Located on the southern tip of beautiful Lake Keowee, South Cove has boat ramps, a sandy beach, tennis courts, miniature golf, picnic shelter and 88 camp sites. For day visits or a longer vacation, South Cove is a great location.

 


High Falls Park

This 44-acre park is situated on beautiful Lake Keowee and is fully equipped with boat ramps, fishing pier, level sandy beach and offers 100 camp sites, shelters, miniature golf, volleyball as well as access to all your favorite water sports.

 

Chau Ram Park

Situated at the confluence of the Chauga River and Ramsey Creek, Chau Ram offers waterfalls, river tubing and quiet pools for swimming. A suspension bridge leads to hiking trails and there are 28 camp sites, as well as several shelters.  

 

Stumphouse Tunnel and Issaqueena Falls
Off SC Hwy. 28, 7 miles north of Walhalla; 864 638-4343

This unique tunnel was created in the mid 1800's as part of an effort to connect Charleston to Knoxville by rail. Just below the tunnel is Issaqueena Falls, one of the easiest waterfalls to access in this area. There are no camping facilities and the park is open from 10am to 5pm.

 
STATE PARKS

Oconee State Park
624 State Park Rd., Mountain Rest; 864 638-5353

 Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930's the Park is situated in the foothills of the mountains and borders Sumter National Forest. With two lakes, hiking trails the 1,165-acre park has 140 camp sites and several cabins for rent.

 

Oconee Station Historic Site
500 Oconee Station Rd., Walhalla; 864 638-0079

The park is free to visitors and features two historic buildings -- a stone blockhouse dating from 1792 and the William Richards House. Station Cove Falls is accessible from the park by one of several walking trails.

 

 

Keowee Toxaway State Park

The Jocassee Gorges Visitor Center with exhibits and an information center makes this Park a gateway to the Jocassee Gorges! Just a 1/2 mile walk to Lake Keowee, this Park offers camping or cabin rentals.

 

Devils Fork State Park
161 Holcombe Cir., Salem; 864 944-2639

Located on the shores of Lake Jocassee, the Park offers the only public access point to Lake Jocassee where several waterfalls are accessible only by boat. There are camping sites or cottages for rent and several walking trails.

 

Lake Hartwell State Park

Located just off Interstate 85 on Hwy. 11, the Park gives visitors access to Lake Hartwell, one of the largest lakes in the Southeast. There are camp sites or camper-cabins for rent,
